Is there a dress code of any kind?

No.  Some of us come to worship in suites and dresses, and others in slacks and jeans (and the occasional pair of shorts!).  We care about you being here more than what you wear.  Please keep the spiritual attribute of modesty in mind as you choose your attire.

How much do I have to give financially?

"Nothing!"  Giving is a privilege, not a requirement.  As Christians mature, giving becomes a natural expression of faith and thanksgiving as God's blessings abound.

2 Corinthians 9:6 says "Remember this; whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.  Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."

Who is "in charge" of this church?

Each church of Christ is independent.  Each congregation is under leadership of an appointed group of men we call Shepherds or Elders.  They are responsible for the spiritual and physical welfare of our congregation.

Who We Are

The Dardenne Prairie church of Christ stems from a religious movement in the early 1800's known as the Restoration Movement.  One goal of this movement is to bring unity to all believers by restoring the simplicity of New Testament Christianity.

We are striving to be a congregation that understands and lives this philosophy.  Our trust is not in our traditions, but in the Word of God.  Our strength is not found in our numbers but in our relationship with God through the power of His grace in Jesus Christ.

You will find a wide variety of people worshipping at the Dardenne Prairie church of Christ.

You will find happy people, and grouchy people, friendly people and those who are a little bit more served.  We have people here with money, and those who struggle to get by.  There are those who like to dress up and those who prefer to go more casual.  You will find people who prefer a more traditional worship assembly and those who like a more contemporary service.  You will find people who sing well, and others who don't think they sing well, but give their best to the Lord anyway.

You will find people with many different talents, all seeking to use those gifts in some way for the Lord.

We are a diverse group at all stages of knowledge and spiritual growth.  We don't know everything, or do everything right.  We are simply trying to be the kind of family God wants us to be.

Our unity isn't based on an illusion of perfection.  Our unity is based on our sincere love for Jesus and our recognition that we are all sinners in need of God's grace.

We worship together, cry together, laugh together, support each other, and - with God's help - accomplish some things that make a difference.  We are family in the truest sense of the word.  We strive to love God and each other beyond any and all of our shortcomings.
